The company has confirmed that Whatsapp Calling is in the works for the Windows Phone platform
Whatsapp’s VOIP calling feature is so far only enjoyed by the Android users. Considering the wide customer base that the messaging app enjoys, it seems likely that it would want to make sure that it keeps things same across all its users’ platforms. This is when WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton announced that the voice calling feature will soon come to the iOS users as well. It has been a week since this revelation and the feature is apparently under the works and is taking long due to certain “platform restrictions.”
While the voice calling feature is going to cover two major platforms in the industry, it gives no reason for Whatsapp to exclude Windows Phone which is equally important. The good news is that the company’s support department has confirmed that the feature will soon make its way to the Windows Phone as well.
An email from the company states “WhatsApp Calling for your platform [Windows Phone] is still in the works.” However, no further comments or any other details have been revealed by Whatsapp after this announcement so we are left wondering when exactly this change is going to be made on the iOS and the Windows Phone platform. It seems like the Android users have been enjoying the voice calling feature for a pretty long time. When the feature first launched on Android, it could only be used through invites but now it has been opened for all users.
