Harvey Weinstein will not be charged in groping case. Former Miss Italy and model Ambra Battilana accused Weinstein of groping her on March 27th.
Mega-producer Harvey Weinstein has no longer to worry as he will not face any criminal charges. Weinstein was accused by Italian model Ambra Battilana that he had molested her in his Tribeca Film Center office on March 27th.
Joan Vollero a spokeswoman for DA Cyrus Vance Jr stated to PageSix that the case against Weinstein was taken seriously and a thorough investigation was conducted by their sex crimes unit. She also stated that after investigation and looking at all the evidence a criminal charge is not supported.
The accuser Ambra Battilana, 22, had also seemed to be suspicious as she refused to cooperate with authorities for four days after her claim. Moreover her former lawyer, Mark Jay Heller dumped this case because he was uncomfortable with Battilana’s machinations and stated that she does not appear to be a serious victim.
The police also had the Italian model to place a call to Weinstein which they listened to and also recorded. In the call he does admit that he might have been a little frisky with her but he does not admit to any crime. Weinstein also does not deny that he touched her breast nu than he could argue that being a producer he had to know if her breasts were the real deal.
Apart from this the model has also accused that Weinstein also put his hand up her skirt. However this Weinstein never admitted on the call. Battilana has also sued a 70 year old sugar daddy before claiming that he had sexually assaulted her.
