Spike Lee’s next movie ‘Chiraq’ is said to star Samuel L. Jackson, Kanye West and Jeremy Piven. The movie is about crime and education in Chicago city.

Spike Lee the Oscar-nominated filmmaker is making his next movie ‘Chiraq’ for amazon Studios. The director is planning on starring Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Piven, Common and Kanye West as the cast for this movie. However up till now the representatives of Common and West have not made any comment whether the stars will be a part of the movie or not.

The details of the plot are being kept under wraps but the movie is about the crime and gun violence in Chicago. Moreover Piven and Kanye West are both from Chicago and maybe that is the reason that Spike Lee wants them in his film. Moreover Piven’s involvement in the film will depend on his schedule as he is also involved in a TV project ‘Mr. Selfridge.’

Apart from these actors Spike Lee also wants his ‘Avengers’ star Jackson to cameo in ‘Chiraq,’ according to The Wrap. The two have also worked together on several other projects such as ‘Do the Right Thing’ and ‘Jungle Fever’. However currently Jackson is busy shooting Quentin Tarantino’s ‘The Hateful Eight’ and will also soon be seen in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron.’

On the other hand Kanye West has been looking to increase his profile in Hollywood and he has previously had a cameo in ‘Anchorman 2’ and is also a part of Ben Stiller’s ‘Zoolander’ sequel. Common has recently won an Oscar and seems that Spike Lee will definitely have him on his cast for ‘Chiraq’.

‘Chiraq’ is going to be Amazon’s first foray into feature film industry. Previously the online retailer has branched out into TV industry and even won a Golden Globe for best TV musical or comedy series. However the name of Amazon’s first feature film has also sparked some outcry as the name ‘Chiraq’ is a combination of Chicago and Iraq.
