Zayn Malik thanks One Direction as he receives OCM Award

Zayn Malik thanked his band mates from One Direction as he received the OCM Award. It is for Outstanding Contribution to Music, something he richly deserves.

It’s been a month of chaos and sturm-und-drang for Zayn Malik, a vital part of the #1 boy band in the world, One Direction. But finally, the lad seems to have wrestled his demons and emerged unscathed. He made an appearance at the Fifth Annual Asian Awards and received a trophy for Outstanding Contribution to Music.

Zayn was honored and delighted. He sported a buzz cut and was looking the epitome of a lean mean fighting machine in a black coat and tie. The Bradford native posed with fans and then proceeded to enjoy hobnobbing with the immortals at the event. 

Zayn was lauded and praised as one of the most prolific musicians of our times. His influence had reached far and wide indeed.

Zayn while accepting his award took a moment to address his mom and dad and how he loved them for how they had always encouraged his talent. According to Now Magazine, he also thanked his band mates saying that they were four of the best people in his life and fond memories of them will always remain deep inside his mind till his dying day. 

Zayn was joined onstage by a friend and music producer Naughty Boy. Now that is a name that few would be able to forget! Naughty Boy later on said that he was all palsy walsy with Zayn and that in this cutthroat business it was a miracle to have a close friend.

Zayn needed some stress relief after the media heckling got to him in the last few months regarding his private life. So he quit the band and chilled out on his own. Today he is a healthy 22 year old lad with a wonderful future laid out before him.
