  • Las Vegas police arrested L.A. Kings center Jarret Stoll on April 17 for allegedly smuggling cocaine and ecstasy into a pool party.

Authorities reportedly arrested Los Angeles Kings center Jarret Stoll on Friday for allegedly smuggling cocaine and ecstasy into a pool party in his board shorts at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, per multiple reports.

Police have arrested Los Angeles center Jarret Stoll for allegedly smuggling cocaine and ecstasy into a pool party in Las Vegas.

According to a police report obtained by TMZ Sports, the 32-year-old Stoll tried to bring an 8-ball of cocaine and eight grams of ecstasy or “Molly” to a Las Vegas pool party in his board shorts.

Authorities took Stoll into custody at around 4:30 p.m. PT on April 17 while going through a security check for the Wet Republic pool party at the MGM Grand, per TMZ Sports.

The TMZ Sports update goes into more detail:

“Despite the sign CLEARLY warning people that they will be patted down on the way inside, Stoll took his chances…and a Wet Republic security guard found a pink baggie with white powder and numerous ‘gel-caps’ with an off-white powder inside consistent with the drug ‘Molly.’

“According to the police report…when asked if the powder inside the baggie was coke, Stoll said, ‘Yes.’

“Cops say stoll had 3.3 grams of Coke…and 8.1 grams of Molly.”

Clark County district attorney spokeswoman Tess Driver told Lance Pugmire of The Los Angeles Times via email on Monday criminal charges against Stoll are pending toxicology results:

“The office is waiting the results of toxicology reports on the alleged narcotics and we will likely not have those results for several weeks. Formal charges…will not be filed until we receive those results and are able to fully review the case.”

Should the tests yield positive results, Stoll faces felony charges of drug possession, per Pugmire.

The Los Angeles Times also obtained a copy of a police report from the Las Vegas Police Department. It says police discovered the drugs “in the right, back pocket of Stoll’s swimsuit shorts.”

In the same police report, a narcotics detective describes how he caught Stoll red-handed:

“I immediately recognized from my training and experience having been a narcotics detective for the past 20 years [that] the off-white powder in [the] pink baggie [was] consistent with the illegal narcotic cocaine.

“The gel-caps with the powder inside were consistent with the illegal narcotic MMDA [Ecstasy] or street term ‘Molly.'”

“No one should pre-judge the situation until all the facts come out,” Stoll’s attorney, David Chesnoff, told Pugmire on Monday. Chesnoff has previously represented the likes of Paris Hilton, Bruno Mars and Lindsey Lohan.

For their part, the Kings issued a statement on their official website on the day Stoll was arrested:

“We are aware of police reports out of Clark County, Nevada regarding Jarret Stoll. Our organization is concerned and has begun conducting a thorough internal investigation. While we continue to actively gather facts, we are withholding further comment at this time.”

NBC Los Angeles’ Michael Duarte confirms Las Vegas police released Stoll on a $5,000 bond on the evening of his arrest. A hearing had been scheduled for April 18.

Stoll is the boyfriend of sportscaster Erin Andrews. Duarte says there has been no confirmation if they were together or if Stoll was with companions when he was arrested. They have been together since 2013 and have reportedly been engaged.

Stoll has a pending hearing at 8:30 a.m. on July 1, the same day he will become an unrestricted free agent, per Pugmire.

Stoll, a 12-year NHL veteran, has amassed 140 goals and 239 assists for 379 points in 792 career regular-season games for the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings, per ESPN stats
