The Aussie actor, Russell Crowe and Jimmy Fallon belted out the Earth Day song “Balls in your Mouth” on the show causing much amusement and amazement among the audience members.
Russell Crowe and Jimmy Fallon both were in suit and tie and had guitars slung over their frames in order to sing the funny and earthy (no pun intended) number “Balls in your Mouth”.
The whole effort was made for the sake of making the world a more eco-friendly place via consciousness raising. Earth Day took place on 22nd April and it was a grim reminder of what we are doing to the planet we inhabit. If we are not careful, and start acting right now, we will run out of clean breathable air before we run out of oil, coal or gas.
The song “Balls in your Mouth” /4/sound overtly pornographic to many but in fact it is a serious number about the British Petroleum oil spill which took place half a decade ago. The pornograffiti in the song is a pointer towards the spheres of gunk that the environmental disaster left all over the sea surface.
Thus the main thing that was sung in the song was that if you are not careful while swimming in the sea, you will get tar balls in your mouth which would be a very bad thing indeed.
Fallon gave the intro in a very sober and dead serious manner which must have been difficult seeing the name of the song which would make any college sophomore laugh his head off (what to say of adults).
Then Russell Crowe began singing and strumming his guitar alongside Fallon. They both put on poker faces that were not in the least likely to crack in a smile or grin since the occasion was a very palpable one and not one of hilarity or non-seriousness. But the audience went nuts!
