Fifty Shades Darker First Teaser is Here

Universal announces release dates of both Fifty Shades of Grey sequels!

Universal recently announced the release dates of both the sequels to the hugely popular film ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’. However the sequels will not be out for a long time with ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ set for a release date of February 10th 2017 and ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ slated for a release of February 9th 2018. 

Fans of the series will have to wait for at least a year until 2017 before the next installment hits the theaters to steam up the screens. The news was announced by the Universal studio chief Donna Langley at the CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas. Just like the first installment ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ both he sequels will be released right around Valentine’s Day.

The announcement was made only a day after it was decided by Universal the screenplay for the sequel will be written by the husband of Fifty Shades of Grey author E. L. James. Niall Leonard an author an screenwriter has more experience writing screenplays in the industry than his wife who penned the hugely popular ‘Fifty Shades’ books trilogy.

The release delay of the next two installments /4/be due to the fact the films currently do not have a director as the previous director Sam Taylor-Johnson left the franchise after multiple clashes with the author E. L. James on the set. The screenwriter Kelly Marcel also did not return for the sequels and the franchise was left without a screenwriter and a director.  

The first film ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ which opened on the 13th of February was poorly received by critics but earned a staggering $568 million at the worldwide box office. The second and third installment ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ and ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ will continue the love story of the billionaire Christian Grey and his love college graduate Anastasia Steele.
