Grey’s Anatomy kills off Patrick Dempsey’s character Dr. McDreamy!

A really sad moment for the fans of Grey’s Anatomy.

One of the most beloved characters Dr. Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd from the long running drama series ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ was killed off in the latest episode. The episode entitled ‘How to Save a Life’ which aired on Thursday closed off the story of Patrick Dempsey’s character on the ABC drama. 

The news of Dempsey’s exit was not really a shocker for fans as rumors had previously been circling the actor who portrayed Dr. Derek Shepherd for 10 years wants to quit. Dempsey still had a year left in his contract but wanted to get out sooner. 

Previously when Entertainment Weekly came out early to subscribers they were able to read a piece on the exit of Dr. Derek Shepherd’s character from Grey’s Anatomy entitled ‘The Doctor is… Out.’ Entertainment Weekly later apologized for having ruined a major shocking plot development.

Fans took to social media to discuss the spoilers before it even aired and what was supposed to be a shocking turn of events in the story became predictable. The news also became the top trend worldwide with the hashtag #GreysAnatomy as fans expressed their sorrow on the exit of a beloved character from the show.

ABC and Dempsey did not comment on the development but reports suggest even though Dempsey had a year of contract left he was ousted sooner because of his ‘Diva’ behavior.

Dempsey apparently even had arguments with Shonda Rhimes the creator of the show and sources claim she has little tolerance left for diva behavior after all the past debacles with Katherine Heigl and Isaiah Washington.

Dempsey was suspended from the set by Shonda but word on the set was about he won’t be coming back. Apparently all the rumors are true as the character played by Dempsey met his untimely demise on Thursday’s episode.
