Activision Blizzard has just announced its financial results for the first quarter of the year and revenues were better than expected. The world’s second-largest gaming company amassed $1.28 billion of GAAP revenues for the quarter, which ended on March 31, 2015. Activision Blizzard had $1.11 billion in revenues for the first quarter of 2014.

On a non-GAAP basis, the company had $703 million in net revenues, slightly lower than last year’s $772 million in the same quarter. Additionally, GAAP net revenues from the company’s digital channels reached $581 million. Non-GAAP net revenues from its digital channels climbed to $538 million, representing 76 percent of the company’s total revenues.

Meanwhile, the company said that over 150 million active users around the world are playing its games for more than 12 billion hours and counting. Destiny and Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft ended the quarter with a combined 50 million active players. Destiny had 20 million active players while Hearthstone had 30 million.

The giant gaming company also announced a few goodies for its fans. During its earnings call, Activision Blizzard said that a major content release is coming to Destiny this fall.
