Android Wins the Race in Mobile Ad Revenue Generation

Apple’s iOS left behind as Android takes over with 45.77% of the revenue generated from mobile ads

Mobile ad analytic firm Opera Mediaworks has uncovered the recent developments in terms of Android vs. Apple on the mobile advertisements front. According to their most recent findings, Android is finally stepping one step forward in its game and has for the first time gone ahead of iOS as far as the revenue generated through mobile ads is concerned.

Their report shows the results for the first quarter of this year which shows that Android managed to generate 45.77% of the revenue generated from mobile ads during this time period. Apple on the other hand was able to bring in 45.44%. Marginally speaking, Android is clearly ahead of Apple. The top five positions on the scale were secured by BlackBerry, Symbian, and Windows with 1.96, 1.27 and 0.09% revenue share, respectively.

Android was once again ahead even in terms of the traffic generated by mobile ads. Google’s OS was responsible for bringing in 65.17% of all mobile ad impressions while Apple lagged way behind with a share of 22.34% ad impressions. Android has remained ahead in mobile traffic since last year which had marked the first time Android surpassed iOS.
