Royal Twins of Monaco Baptized at Catholic Church

5 month old royal twins of Monaco baptized at Catholic Church!

The royal twin’s crown Prince Jacques and his sister Princess Gabriella were baptized on Sunday at a tiny Catholic church in Monaco. The ceremony was carried out by the Archbishop Bernard Barsi who bathed their heads in water to baptise them Catholic Christians while the cathedral was bedecked with 6,000 white flowers. 

The parents of the twins Prince Albert II and his wife Zimbabwe-born former Olympian Princess Charlene held the infants throughout the ceremony. Princess Gabriella was held by her father Prince Albert II, while Princess Charlene held Jacques, while both babies were wearing white gowns by Baby Dior. The twins were born on the 11th of December 2014, and Gabriella was the first born while Jacques was the second.  

The ceremony ended with a message from Pope Francis and the couple walked back to the royal Palace as they greeted residents, friends, tourists, and then handed the babies to their nannies. 

Crown Prince Jacques will be honored with the Grand Cross of the Order of Grimaldi on Sunday even though he is the second born. According to the succession laws of Monaco Jacques will be the first in line to the throne due to his gender.

The godparents for the Crown Prince are from Prince Albert’s side of the family while the godparents for Princess Gabriella are from her mother’s side of the family.  

Prince Albert II already has one 22 year old daughter and an 11 year old son born out of wedlock from previous affairs. Prince Albert’s previous children will not be considered heirs to the crown or be entitled to royal titles due to their illegitimacy but they will have the legal right to shares from their father’s personal fortune which amounts up to $1 billion/€800 million.
