- Google Has Launched Limited Edition Android Cases for $40 Each
Google has collaborated with Skrillex and has made limited edition live cases for Nexus and Samsung phones.
Google has announced a new series of limited edition Android cases for Nexus and Samsung devices. They have collaborated with Skrillex and have designed several kinds of cases. The cases were made for Nexus 6, Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
These new limited edition cases are being called the Skrillex Live Cases. These cases are not like any other smartphone cases. Google is bundling a companion experience with these cases. Which means that these cases will offer a live wallpaper update throughout the day with the help of satellite imagery.
Google had designed a custom balloon satellite that it launched for this project. Both Google and Skrillex launched this custom designed balloon satellite which was called Nanou. The satellite was named Nanou after Skrillex’s dog.
So once Nanou’s photographic mission is over, a lucky winner will win the autographed satellite in the upcoming giveaway. These cases also feature a new button. When you press that button, it will take you to Skrillex’s official YouTube channel.
The users will be able to customize the button later. Like if they want some application like their camera app to open with the help of this button, then they will be able to do that. Google will also be offering free early access to the upcoming Skrillex album.
So those people that buy the case from the Google Play Store will have access to get the new Skrillex album for free. So this is Google’s first of many collaborations. It has hinted that it will collaborate with other parties in the future to make these limited edition cases.
If you want to purchase the limited edition case for your phone, you can go to the Google Play Store and buy it for $40. Remember that this case is no ordinary case as it is one of a kind Live Case. You need to make sure that you order the case for your phone when ordering.
