- B.B. King’s Estate Attorney calls homicide allegation ‘Ridiculous’ and ‘Defamatory’.
After B.B. King’s daughter accuse his business manager and personal assistant of poisoning the blues legend attorney Brent Bryson strikes back.
B.B. King passed away at his home at the age of 89 with his business manager LaVerne Toney by his side, while none of the family members were present. Previously King’s daughter Patty King had accused the manager of elder abuse and King had been taken to the hospital following a mini heart attack.
King’s other daughter Karen Williams had tried to seek the custody of King from Toney but had been refused by a Las Vegas judge a week before King’s death.
The set of events following King’s death are even more intense. After their father died Patty King and Karen Williams accused the business manager Toney and King’s personal assistant Myron Johnson of poisoning their father.
According to an affidavit by Patty King who lived with King for several months, Toney used to give B.B. King a few drops of an unidentified substance every night and failed to tell Patty what the substance was. The sisters Karen Williams and Patty King further state they believe their father was given some foreign substance to hasten his death and has been murdered.
The allegations resulted in an autopsy and according to the Clark County coroner the report will not be out for another 6-8 weeks and until then no homicide investigation can take place.. It was further reported all of B.B. King’s children have come together against Toney who allegedly kept all the family members away from the blues legend in his final days.
On the other hand B.B King’s Estate attorney, Brent Bryson have called the allegations against Toney ‘Ridiculous’, ‘Defamatory’ and ‘Libelous’.
Bryson told NBC News that three doctors determined King had been receiving around the clock care before his death and he passed away peacefully in his sleep. Toney has been named as the executor of the estate of B.B. King which is worth more than millions of dollars.
