Trevor Noah first Daily Show is on September 28

Comedy Central

Comedy Central has set the date for the first Daily Show hosted by Trevor Noah.

Trevor Noah is already trying on Jon Stewart’s chair (See video below). Today Comedy Central announced the date for the first Daily Show edition hosted by Trevor Noah.

Jon Stewart had announced in February that he would step down as host to follow other interests. He was the host for 16 years. The Daily Show has had just two hosts since it launched on Comedy Central in 1996. The first was Craig Kilborn and then Jon Stewart.

Jon Stewart’s last Daily Show will be on August 6.

It will be hard for Noah to follow Jon Stewart’s tenor and be as successful as him. Fans of the Daily Show will find out on September 28 what Trevor Noah will make out of the satirical news show. I will be watching. I am a huge fan of the show, but I am not sure how much of it is Jon Stewart.

Noah is a 31 years old South African biracial comedian. He already has a great fan following and a great body of work in his resume. He performed in David Paul Meyer’s award-winning documentary film “You Laugh But It’s True”- the story of his remarkable career in post-apartheid South Africa. Noah’s one-man show “The Racist” at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe was a sold out run that became one of the most talked about shows at the Festival that year.
