Computex 2015 will bring a slew of new consumer electronics announcements. CES 2015 is already 5 months in the past. Manufacturers have new things to unveil.
The Computex 2015 in Taipei has started. Over the next five days companies will present new consumer electronics at four venues packed with 1,702 exhibitors and 5,072 booths. Computex 2015 main topics are Internet of things, Mobile Applications and Cloud Tech and Services.
Internet of Things (IoT) is seen as the new driver for growth in the electronics industry. By 2023 more than US$1.9 trillion will be spent on 25 billion IoT devices, predicts Gartner. There are more than 700 COMPUTEX exhibitors that are focusing on IoT, Mobile Applications, and Cloud Technology and Services. Others are showcasing wearable tech, mobile devices, IOV, wireless communication and smart living.
The soaring growth in IoT tech brings heated demand for chips that have been developed for multiple applications. Computex has become the meeting hub for global chip makers such as Intel, MediaTek, Broadcom, NXP, ST Microelectronics, NVIDIA, AMD and Cypress Semiconductor.
The Computext organizers are expecting more than 38,000 international visitors during the 5-day show period. The big attraction will be the 1-on-1 procurement meetings that enhance buying power and connections. This year hundreds of international buyers are expected to join more than 2,200 1-on-1 procurement sessions, doubling the number from last year. And there are scores of buyer groups from China, Hong Kong, Romania, Vietnam, Nigeria and Bangladesh.
Asus held one of the premiere keynotes at the Computex 2015 already earlier today. The company revealed the ZenWatch 2, new tablets and new laptops running Windows 10.
SanDisk has unveiled the world’s smallest 128GB USB drive at the Computex and the highest capacity USB flash drive with 256GB. We expect many more anouncements from Computex 2015 in the coming hours. Watch the I4U Technology News section for the latest Computex 2015 highlights.
