This time there has been a #1 pole position for an Audi sports car at the Daytona 24 Hours Race. It is a landmark event that has done Audi proud and will go down in the annals of sports racing as an exceptional achievement.
An Audi R8 LMS is appearing in the pole position for some competition this season at Daytona. This is the first time that an Audi has gained the privilege to start the whole day long race from the coveted spot. The German Christopher Haase clocked in as the speediest and so he made the grade. The man has brought fame, fortune and glory to the team and the automobile company. More than five dozen cars with the classiest spare parts fitted in their interiors will partake in the race that will last for a full 24 hours.
Head of Audi Sport customer racing, Romolo Liebchen said, “Obviously, we’re extremely happy with this result – it’s the first pole position for Audi at Daytona. Being on grid positions one and three in such a large field with such close time gaps is simply brilliant.”
Four Audi teams will be sponsoring and servicing a total of five cars of the same ilk. Daytona, Florida is the venue and it will be an adrenaline-fueled event that will set the male testosterone levels skyrocketing too. The Daytona Race is a milestone in American sports car events.
And like the Le Mans Series that went before it, surely it will be extremely popular among the aficionados of the great game that has inspired such movies as The Fast and the Furious. Already the competition among the participants is a neck to neck affair. The Audi team deserves a clap on the back for such supersonic performance on the race track and off it!
