Ahead of F8 Facebook reveals On This Day Feature

The F8 Facebook developer conference will kick off today at 9:30am PDT. Ahead of the F8 Facebook unveiled the On This Day feature.

The two-day Facebook developer conference F8 starts today at 9:30am PDT. Facebook will reveal new developments for Facebook, Instagram, Parse, Oculus, LiveRail and other apps. Facebook fans can watch the presentations taking place at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco live online on this page. The F8 opening keynote starts at 10am PDT.

Ahead of the F8, Facebook already unveiled some new things like On This Day. On This Day is a new way to look back at things you have shared and posts users have been tagged in on Facebook. Only the user can see your On This Day page.

On This Day shows content from this date in the past. For example, users might see past status updates, photos, posts from friends and other things they have shared or been tagged in – from one year ago, two years ago, and so on. Only you will see this content unless you decide to share it with your friends.

The On This Day feature is already live and can be accessed under facebook.com/onthisday.

Earlier today Facebook revealed some new projects in the F8 app. It is not clear if that was an accident or planned. Facebook will reveal at the F8 Parse for IoT, Messenger as a Platform, and the Teleportation Station.

Facebook will reveal the details of these new tools today and tomorrow.
