The star of Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Alfonso Ribeiro is to be the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos. He is confident that he will be able to handle the task with skill and acumen.

Alfonso Ribeiro used to appear as a milksop character on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. But Alfonso Ribeiro who played the opposite of Will Smith on the famous 90s sitcom has changed with the times.

He has appeared on the platform known as DWTS and now he is the next slated host of America’s Funniest Home Videos, according to THR. It sure is a long way from the weak character of Carlton Banks in the Fresh Prince TV series.

Tom Bergeron is leaving the job of host and who better to fill it than Alfonso Ribeiro. Ribeiro is a permanent fixture on many of ABC’s programs.

However, Ribeiro will carry on hosting DWTS despite his additional responsibility as host of AFV. Since Ribeiro is used to hosting some very top notch shows, he is the ideal candidate for this current slot.

This fine young gentleman has already orchestrated such giant shows as Unwrapped and SpellMageddon not to mention Catch 21. The original host of AFV was none other than Bob Saget of Full House fame.

But that was at the start of the 90s. Later on John Fugelsang and Daisy Fuentes joined the roster before Bergeron came on board. Now it is Ribeiro’s turn and he will be taking on the stressful yet exciting repertoire of delivering the lines on the show in between shots of hilarious home videos.

Ribeiro has managed to come out on top in many things in his career. He is full of energy and an enthusiastic man with his whole life ahead of him. He also believes that he will host AFV in a manner that is an extension of the comic routines of the previous hosts. It is in keeping up the tradition of good humor on the show.
