Apple Acquires Burstly, Firm Behind TestFlight and SkyRocket

Apple Acquires Burstly, Startup Behind TestFlight and SkyRocket

Apple has acquired the maker and owner of in-app ad management platform SkyRocket and app testing platform TestFlight, called Burstly. It didn’t disclose much about the merger and kept mum about the details. This is Apple’s style and manner of keeping things under wraps till the last moment.

Burstly, which has just been acquired by Apple, is the famous creator of an internal application ad management platform called SkyRocket. It also happens to be the umbrella company of the app testing setup TestFlight.

Apple is now the proud owner of the startup. It figures as is evident from some of the goings on at TestFlight. TestFlight let it be known recently that it would curtail Android support.

Also the termination of its SDK was announced. Only pre-existent groups will be able to upload via SDK. The rest of the people including novel employers will have to take the service off their systems.

FlightPath, a mobile provider was sealed too. This analytics center-point was the new substitution. It was a part and parcel of Burstly and Apple’s conjoint efforts to help in the evolution of the app web.

The commercial demand for this is high indeed. The news is not coming from Burstly either. Like Apple, it too is remaining taciturn. Like a coy mistress it won’t reveal a single secret of what goes on between it and Apple Incorporated.

Burstly had already (before its acquisition) raised funds amounting $7.3 million. It lay somewhere in the plans of Apple to acquire Burstly and so this has come to pass. And the results so far are good.

The two companies will cooperate in the future as a single entity and make hay while the sun shines. Burstly is quite a feather in the cap for Apple, and nobody knows this better than Apple. The high tech giant has every reason to give itself a pat on the back for this acquisitive achievement.
