Apple continues to lure Samsung engineers despite lawsuit

The iPhone maker has drawn key professionals from Samsung who happen to be experts at battery management and signal- and visual-processing management

What’s the best resource a company can get to be competitive? The answer very simply lies in the rival’s workforce. After all, everything is fair in love, war AND business and Apple has shown the world that this is exactly what it believes in. It has been reported by The Korea Times that Apple has been getting some Samsung fish into its net trap which surely is a big plus for the fruit giant but time to worry for the Korean giant. Apple is reportedly hiring those employees from Samsung who happen to be working on the next-generation technology which also includes the signal- and visual-processing management.

Everything mentioned in the report does seem to be coming in from the right sources but since they are officials at the Samsung company they haven’t been named. Apple might have adopted the ‘none but the best approach for its headhunt which is actively seeking for the experienced professionals also working on battery management. All this has come down upon us when rumors circulating around tell us about Apple’s intentions to build an electric car.

This is how the company has reacted to the situation;

“Some of our personnel have been hired by Apple. They now work at Apple’s headquarters in San Jose, Calif.,” said one official, adding that Apple offers highly-competitive benefits and large annual paychecks.

“Those former Samsung workers are given greater independence to proceed with their tasks. Apple prefers to use Samsung’s chip experts because they are very diligent, mission-oriented and are prepared to acquire new knowledge,” said another official.”

Though the officials haven’t mentioned any specific number of the employees hired by Apple, one official did mention that the company’s engineers have no strong language issues so they will not find it hard to adjust with the iPhone maker.

Maybe Apple hasn’t been paying close attention to the troubles it might face consequently because of its greed. Whether people think it’s unethical or not, the company is already putting up against a lawsuit which accuses Apple of poaching key battery engineers from A123 Systems including Samsung.

Apple’s appetite for hiring former Samsung personnel has expanded to the battery arena as the Cupertino-based company is reportedly developing electric vehicles, which means Apple needs battery experts. […]

“As the electric vehicle business is a new one, Apple needs patents and experts in battery technology. Top human resources firms have been approaching Samsung’s battery experts, individually, and I think such human exchange moves are a win-win for both,” said the official.”
