Apple now allows apps up to 4GB on App Store

According to Apple, the increase in app size will push iOS app developers to equip their apps with high resolution graphics and pack more fun.

Apple has a history of leading the mobile technology competition, as the company is always the first in revealing new smartphone related apps and campaigns. Recently, Apple has disclosed that it has increased the app size limit from 2GB to 4GB. The notification has already been displayed at the developer’s portal as well. According to Apple, the increase in app size will push iOS app developers to equip their apps with high resolution graphics and pack more fun.

Apple /4/also integrate the requirement of downloading heavy sized apps only through WiFi as currently only 100 MBs are permitted on cellular network. Some Apple users have also raised concerns over the entry level iPhone with only 16GB available, which /4/have no space left after the installation of iOS8 and one or two graphics rich apps. There is no news on how early iOS developers will be able to submit apps crossing 2 GB limit, however, considering that large sized apps to be launched soon on the AppStore, Apple /4/have to suspend its production of 16GB iPhone.

Apple officials have also mentioned that since the space has been increased to facilitate iOS developers, they expect interesting game titles for launch this year. The iOS developers will be able to add graphics with higher resolution in their applications as well as games. The rival company Google made the same attempt last year, however it was accomplished in a much different way. Users with Android handset usually experience ‘additional files’ upon downloading a large sized app from PlayStore, which are usually stored directly in media card if available.

Since Apple does not offer any SD card option as a part of extended hard drive, the top of the line iPhone 6 have 128GB available to give users an ultimate gaming experience. Mobile gaming is a growing field as there is a huge potential in this category. It can be noticed that processors with better performance are being introduced every day along with graphic cards which could take more graphic load. These are all the basic requirements of a decent gaming device. It is also a strong indication that future Apple’s iPhone 7 /4/carry more gaming power inside it.
