Returning the Apple Watch Edition will not be easy. According to a document obtained by 9to5Mac, Apple is implementing stringent guidelines for in-store returns of its 18-karat Apple Watch Edition. So, if a customer decides to return his or her Apple Watch Edition, expect the defective wearable to be scrutinized. Apple will also follow a 14-day return timeframe, sources said.
Store leadership will process Apple’s return policy for the Apple Watch Edition. When it comes to inspections, a Genius will ensure that the product is in its original state, without engravings or any sign of damage or tampering. Moreover, Geniuses will perform an in-store mechanical micro-inspection before an Apple Watch Edition is eligible for a return. If an Apple Watch Edition passes an inspection, only then can a store leadership can process the transaction through EasyPay.
Apple is also implementing guidelines for handling returns. According to the document, watches should be handled with extreme care and must be secured in return bags. Geniuses and managers will also be required to sign the bag as proof of the transaction. Apple’s strict guidelines aren’t surprising, considering the hefty price tag of the Apple Watch Edition. It’s worth noting that Apple is also using a unique sales process for the Apple Watch, which involves 15-minute appointments and experts.
