  • But you can’t use it all.

The details of Apple’s fashionable smartwatch are finally out. Yet a few questions remain. Earlier today, we learned that the Apple Watch’s battery is, after all, replaceable, although it won’t be cheap. But another question lingers. What about its storage capacity? Can I save my favorite U2 album on the watch? Can I store lovely pictures of my dog? Apparently, the answer is yes.

Luckily, you can save your favorite songs from Bono and his band. According to 9to5Mac, the Apple Watch comes with 8GB of storage—enough to store hundreds of songs, pictures, and videos. But don’t get too excited yet. While Apple reportedly confirmed the 8GB storage capacity to 9to5Mac, the company pointed out that you can only use up to 2GB of space for songs and another 75MB for pictures.

The good news, however, is that 2GB of space for music is more than enough to keep you entertained all day. Also, because of the Apple Watch’s size, the images will have to be minimized, which means that they will consume less space. A 75MB storage space can store around 100 photos, while 2GB can hold up to 200 songs. To think that you can store that much on a watch is already impressive.

So, where does the remaining 6GB go? Well, the Apple Watch uses what is left for applications, the operating system, and other important data. It’s also worth noting that users can access songs from their iPhone through Bluetooth technology. Apple has a companion app that lets you synchronize songs on the Apple Watch. In all fairness to Apple, the Apple Watch is a good start.
