The Apple Watch is packed with innovation and features. Digital Crown and the Taptic engine have been talked a lot about. The new Force Touch capability is possibly even more powerful on the iPhone 7 and iPad Air 3.
Apple Watch’s Force Touch spells Future of iPhone and iPad
The Apple Watch has been revealed last week. It is so packed with features and innovation that we are still working through it. A new report on Wired highlights the Force Touch feature. The Apple Watch touch screen is pressure sensitive. Wired thinks that feature could be bigger than the Apple Watch itself. Why? It enables the right click on a touch screen interface.
Apple calls Force Touch the most significant new sensing capability since Multi-Touch. In addition to recognizing touch, Apple Watch senses force, adding a new dimension to the user interface. Force Touch uses tiny electrodes around the flexible Retina display to distinguish between a light tap and a deep press, and trigger instant access to a range of contextually specific controls. Taking this new feature to larger devices like iPhone 7 and the next iPad generation could make a huge difference and improve productivity dramatically.
How far away Force Touch on larger screens is hard to say, but maybe it is not that far off and can be introduced in the 2015 iPhone and iPad generations.
