For the first time Australia will be part of the competitors in the Eurovision 2015 in Austria.

Conchita Wurst (Bearded Lady) has won the Eurovision Song Contest last year and brought the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 to Austria. For the first time ever Australia will compete in the ESC. Australia is not the first non-european country competing in the history of the song contest. African nations like Morocco have competed in the past.

This year, the Eurovision Song Contest celebrates its 60th anniversary. To give the anniversary celebrations an extra dimension EBU and host broadcaster ORF invited Australia to compete in the Grand Final of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. This brings the total amount of represented countries to 40.

Australia has apparently a huge Eurovision Song Contest fan-base. The ESC is broadcast on Australian Television since decades. Now some Australians are campaigning to actually win this thing. They want Kylie Minogue to compete for Australia in the  Eurovision Song Contest 2015.

The odds would be pretty high that she would win if she would compete. There is an online petition on Change.org supporting the Kylie Minogue nomination.

Australia has until March 16 to announce the performer for the Song Contest.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2015 takes place on 19, 21 and 23rd of /4/in Vienna, Austria.
