The BBC has apparently a split personality. The broadcaster has fired Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear because of him assaulting a staffer. Apparently his action does not matter in context of other shows. Clarkson is set to host “Have I Got News for You” on April 24.
On March 10, the BBC suspended famous Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson. Two weeks later the British broadcaster fired Clarkson from Top Gear. All this happened because Jeremy Clarkson assaulted a producer named Oisin Tymon in a hotel in North Yorkshire while filming for Top Gear. Clarkson will not be charged by Police because Tymon has said to not press charges. Meanwhile the investigation into the case has ended and will not be pursued any further by police.
Mr. Tymon had to visit a hospital after the attack. The BBC director Tony Hall did say in the announcement of Clarkson’s departure from Top Gear that a line has been crosses and that there cannot be one rule for one and one rule for another.
Considering Hall’s remarks it is very surprising that Jeremy Clarkson is allowed to guest host a show on the BBC. He is schedule to host “Have I Got News for You” on April 24. Why can he host this show, but not Top Gear? Many fans of Top Gear want him back and I understand why.
I have caught up with Top Gear episodes over the last days and it is obvious that Top Gear without Jeremy Clarkson does not work. If the BBC wants to do Top Gear without Clarkson they have to completely exchange the hosting team and start clean with new faces. James /4/and Richard Hammond are not able to carry the show without Clarkson.
