Chris Hardwick of Nerdist Industries and Marvel teaming up to see who can stand the test of Avenger films in a Los Angeles movie marathon that will end in seeing Avengers: Age of Ultron before the rest of the world. Are ready?
Marvel’s looking to assemble a host of fan Avengers for the premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Chris Hardwick announced the studio will present The Ultimate Marvel Marathon, at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood along with his Nerdist Industries.
The podcast and entertainment host let loose the news that all 11 Marvel Cinematic Universe movies would be played between Monday, April 20, and the 8:30pm showing on Tuesday, April 21, during the Nerdist Panel at Wondercon on April 5. In the 29-hour event, Hardwick and other Nerdist guests will receive some information from a few surprise and special guests.
Who knows, maybe Iron Man’ll show up with War Machine for a little Q&A.
Hardwick let fans in on why the event’s happening. “In 1990, Kevin Feige and I were both at an all-day ‘Back to the Future’ trilogy screening where they showed films one and two and then premiered part three for fans die hard enough to wait in line for MANY HOURS, which we were.”
He continued, “After exchanging e-mails with Kevin, we agreed that it was time to do this with the Marvel films.” 11 films and 29-hours of crazy fun means careful with the sodas and drinks, though. You don’t want to miss anything while waiting in the mile-long line between movies.
Attendees that watch all 11 movies will receive an exclusive poster to commemorate the event and will be entered in a drawing to attend the Ant-Man world premiere. Of course, attendees must eat during the marathon, so sponsors Cheeze-It and Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats will provide snacks while full meals are supplied.
Other commemorative merchandise includes a 130 oz metal popcorn tub and event credential. Costume contests, fan raffles, and giveaways will be given between films as well.

“This Ultimate Marvel Marathon will be an experience that Marvel super fans will remember for the rest of their lives, just as we did with Back to the Future. And getting to see Ultron first? What true Nerd doesn’t love to see a movie before anyone else? Marvel fans, ASSEMBLE!”
Nerds and fans unite because this an event to never forget, an once-in-a-lifetime moment for the simple price for $70 per person. Tickets can be purchased through elcapitantickets.com, 1-800-DISNEY6, or calling the theater box office.
But it’s not just Los Angeles getting in on The Ultimate Marvel Marathon fun.
On April 29, cities across the United States will be teaming up and getting a first look at Avengers: Age of Ultron before the /4/1 premiere.
Tickets are available at Fandango or individual theater box offices. Giveaways will vary depending on location.
