Cannes Jury add Jake Gyllenhaal, Sienna Miller & Sophie Marceau

Jake Gyllenhaal, Sienna Miller & Sophie Marceau welcomed in the folds of the Cannes film festival jury!

Actors Jake Gyllenhaal, Sienna Miller and Sophie Marceau along with director Guillermo del Toro will be joining the members of the Cannes Film Festival jury for 2015. The news of the newest jury members was announced on Tuesday by the organisers of the Cannes Film Festival.

Cannes Film Festival set to be held in /4/2015 and the festival is being presided over by the Coen Brothers. Other members of the Cannes Film Festival jury include the Canadian director Xavier Dolanho is also the youngest member of the jury ever at the age of only 26 , Malian singer/writer Rokia Traore and the Spanish actress Rossy de Palma.

The Cannes film festival jury is responsible for choosing winners in a wide range of film categories such as acting and film production. So it’s safe to say Gyllenhaal, Miller and Marceau will be responsible for deciding the fate of some Indie movies nominated in the festival.

The winner of the highest award of the Cannes Film Festival the Palme D’Or is also selected by the jury and presented at the end of the ceremony on the closing day. The Cannes Film Festival runs from the 13th of /4/to the 24th of May. 

Jake Gyllenhaal has been a veteran actor who has received acclaim for his role depicting a US Marine in the film ‘Jarhead’. While Sienna Miller used to be a paparazzi darling a few years back until she recently starred in the film ‘American Sniper’ which was very well received by the critics.

Sophie Marceau on the other hand is a French actress best known for her roles in films such as ‘Brave heart’ and the 007 film ‘The World is Not Enough’ although she has received acclaim for starring a large variety of arthouse films.
