CBS picks up 10 scripted series!

The network CBS has picked up 10 new scripted series and cancelled some old ones. The network announced its decision today, which declared some of the reality shows will also be renewed for the next season but it is no surprise as they are rating winners.

Survivor, The Amazing Race and Undercover Boss are the major reality series of CBS and they will all be returning to be aired on the network. Stalker, The McCarthys and Battle Creek were all cancelled by CBS today officially and will not be returning to the big screen in the next season. The reason for the cancellation is the same old rating sweep downwards.

The series which have been renewed for the next season include CSI: Cyber, Person Of Interest, Hawaii Five-O, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, The Odd Couple, The Good Wife, Criminal Minds, Elementary, and Blue Bloods. All of the scripted shows which are being renewed are currently fan favorites and going strong on the network with a large viewership.

CSI the original series although not been cancelled has been put on hiatus for the next season and the studio is working on something new with the franchise. Some speculate the network studio is working on a possible movie after the show ran for 16 consecutive series. Even if the CSI original series is cancelled the franchise will remain alive as it was recently rebooted with the CSI: Cyber starring Patricia Arquette.

But Person Of Interest is perhaps the only CBS show that has been renewed partially. According to Deadline, CBS only ordered 13 episodes for this show. Person of Interest has been renewed for the next season by CBS but some reports suggest the next season will be the final season of POI and the network executives want to finish the hit series before viewers lose interest. The order for the next season of POI was last minute and only 13 episodes have been commissioned so it raises the question of the end.
