CES 2015: Roku TV to support 4K content with Netflix and TCL; announces New Haier and Insignia Roku TV Models

Roku, Inc. has announced today that it is planning to support 4K Ultra HD streaming for future Roku TV models. That is why the company has prepared a Roku TV reference design for 4K smart TVs for license to TV OEM partners.  

Moreover Roku is also working with Netflix to provide 4K content for streaming on the Roku platform. Plus Roku has now also announced that its customers will soon be happy to purchase Roku TV models which will be manufactured by Insignia.

Roku TV will now place all of a consumer’s TV entertainment sources front-and-center through a simple and personalized home screen. Plus for Roku’s users there is happy news as Haier America and Roku Inc. will also be working together and bring out their TV models soon. 

John Homlish the senior vice president of Haier America’s Digital Living Business Unit stated that Haier is determined on providing an immersive entertainment experience and the new Haier Roku TV models will provide the users with an ultimate streaming experience.

He further said that with Haier’s superb picture quality, enhanced sound and new elegant designs combined with Roku’s operating system and streaming expertise this new model will be a smart TV that will have no match.

Chas Smith, the general manager of OEM for Roku, stated that his company is very excited and has definitely set a new standard for smart TVs and that is why the company has been highly praised by consumers and industry experts for its simplicity and huge selection of streaming content.

Smith further stated that this new model will be great for those consumers that are looking to get one of the best smart TV that is available in the market. 

This new model by Haier and Roku is a Smart LED TV which is going to be available in sizes that range from 32 inches to 65 inches. The models will also come in Full HD resolution and a Sound Chamber that will produce enhanced sound quality with improved mid-range response.

Chas Smith has also stated that Roku TV has set a new standard for the smart TV experience. He talked about the personalized home screen and the Roku Search that searches across many top streaming channels.

He stated that Insignia is an amazing and outstanding TV brand and combining its TV design with Roku’s powerful OS will provide the customers with the best smart TV experience that is available in an affordable price.
