Chris Pratt has been approached to feature in the remake of Indiana Jones by Disney but Harrison Ford isn’t ready to leave his iconic role yet
Chris Pratt has definitely left an iconic mark after his role in Guardians of the Galaxy and the 34 years old actor is certainly receiving a lot of offers for many projects. The Parks and Recreations star is already doing a movie with Denzel Washington, The Magnificent Seven.
His athletic build, brown scruffy hair and flair for action has made him the first choice to be approached by Disney as the studio sets to revive the Indiana Jones series once more for the big screen. Disney bought the rights for the franchise from Paramount and looking at the success of the movies, they look forward to making the movie once more. Deadline first reports that Disney is eyeing Chris Pratt for playing the role of Indiana Jones in the reboot.
However, the original Indiana Jones; Harrison Ford is not ready to leave the franchise just yet, according to HL. He thinks he has some Indiana Jones left in him to give and he would like to play the character of there is another movie. He has nothing against Chris acting in the movie, in fact he said he would like it very much to work with Chris. He would also like t work with Steven Speilberg and George Lucas once more.
He expressed that he would like the story to be definitive in a sense where the whip and the hat are passed on to Chris rather than the actor just appearing in it. Just like Harrison played Sean Connery’s son in the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Chris could play another long lost son like Shea Labeouf in the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull who will be stepping into his old man’s shoes.
Another scenario could be Chris playing a younger version of Harrison Ford as Indiana as older version narrates the story but we have already seen too much of Ford as young Indiana to digest anyone else so the first scenario seems more likely.
Disney has not confirmed the news yet so it is just an unofficial rumor as of yet but we definitely want to see more of Chris and the idea of him as the next Indiana Jones is definitely appealing.
