New report says Christian Bale has pulled out of the Sony Steve Jobs movie.
Apple fans have been pretty happy with the news in late October that Christian Bale would play Steve Jobs in the Sony produce biopic based on Walter Isaacson’s biography. Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin said back then: “We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that’s Chris Bale,” Sorkin told Bloomberg Television’s Emily Chang on a coming edition of “Studio 1.0.” “He didn’t have to audition. Well, there was a meeting.”
Today THR reports that their sources say that Christian Bale has pulled out of the Steve Jobs movie. According to these sources Christian Bale had conflicting feelings about the project and decided after long deliberation to walk away. This is the second actor to pass on the Steve Jobs role. Leonardo DiCaprio was supposedly also offered the Jobs role.
Christian Bale would have been perfect in my eyes. It will be interesting to learn what his concerns have been about playing Steve Jobs. Is the whole Apple fanboyism a possible reason?
Steve Wozniak is supposed to be played by Seth Rogen, unless he also develops conflicting feelings about his role.
