At the CMAs, Carrie Underwood revealed that she is pregnant and that it’s going to be a baby boy. And she also debuted her new music video “Something in the Water” at 2014 CMA awards.
The CMAs were the spot where the beautiful and famous Carrie Underwood let loose a secret. She was preggers and it was a male child she was expecting to deliver. Actually, come to think of it, her co-host, Brad Paisley told everyone that Carrie’s baby was a boy. Mama Mia! According to People, this is the first baby for Carrie with hubby Mike Fisher.
“We’re pregnant,” Paisley said onstage, asking, “Can you please just tell me what we’re having?”
When Carrie whispered the sex of the baby in Brad’s ear he whooped with joy and told the audience that he knew something they had no idea of. After some Taylor, Ebola and Renee Zellweger quips, Paisley suggested that the baby boy be named Garth.
“We could name him Garth,” Paisley suggested.
“What are you doing?” Underwood said. “What’s wrong with you? You gotta be kidding me. You kept that secret for a whole two minutes.”
This is not new. Carrie has applied humor to her pregnancy before. She posted an Instagram photo showing two of her dogs and wrote the caption that they were the baby boy’s older siblings.
According to E! News, Brad sure knows how to let the cat out of the bag for the audience. Brad even said at one point “we’re pregnant” to which Carrie remarked that actually he wasn’t there when she got knocked up. Brad then remonstrated with her by saying that she couldn’t keep him at bay from the boy. He asked her whether it was going to be pink color or blue color for the occasion.
Carrie than mustered the courage to whisper the secret in his ear. He then managed to shout out that he knew something that the crowds looking at them didn’t. When Brad suggested that the boy be named Garth, guffaws broke out in the audience. It seems that all the dramatics and histrionics on stage was already pre-planned between Carrie and Brad.
Otherwise Carrie would have probably been miffed. But the fact of the matter was that she was not in the least furious with the overt behavior of Brad Paisley. She had already announced the news in September on Instagram in a humorous manner.

31-year-old Carrie even told the expected date of delivery in an interview. She said that she will be responsible for a tiny human being soon. The bundle of joy is due in spring of the next year. Carrie was all smiles as she made the announcement.
That Brad and Carrie were the hosts made the awkward jokes they cracked even more merry to listen to. They even poked fun at among others: George Strait, Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton. According to HuffPost, they really did up the ante when they discussed Postpartum Taylor Swift Disorder. This of course referred to Swift’s shift from country to the pop genre.

They even invented a lyric or two about Taylor on the spot. They ended their skit with a sort of “That’s All Folks!” and said that country music would just have to shake it off. They had the guts to lampoon the Ebola virus scare by singing the “Quarantine” parody of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene”.
Carrie sang her new single “Something in the Water” by the end of the show. She did not let her baby bump get in the way of lending the crowd an earful of solid entertainment. She then later on frequented Twitter to release the video clip of the song.

It was definitely an exciting time for Carrie Underwood who was on top of the world at the very moment when the CMAs got going. Not only is she heavy with child, she is also at the peak of her career. The show also had Faith Hill in it and she had a pixie cut which looked kind of cute.
The country music genre has bred such hugely successful talents as Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton and of course the one and only Taylor Swift. They have shone in their value as voices that are sweeter since they are seldom heard in the crowd of riffraff marketplace rough and tumble affairs.
Especially, Taylor Swift who just recently decided to go pop, is a name to be reckoned with. Her very lilt and tunes are redolent of a velvet voiced canary in a cage. Taylor’s album 1989 is out now and she will be tearing up the airwaves for sure.
