David Lynch said that although he loved the world of Twin Peaks he is not sure whether he would be returning because he has not yet signed the contract.
Queensland’s Galley of Modern Art (GOMA) Brisbane, Australia hosted a classy event “Between Two Worlds” featuring the versatile director and artist, David Lynch who was there to talk about his life experiences at the Books and Arts section.
The actor’s views about himself were very definitive. He expressed that he was above conforming for any role. He was now at a point where he would choose a role that suited him. He has worked for so many years.
His experiences have taught him to look forward and be the best person he could be and not over thinking it. He would rather have the creative control of his own roles rather than letting people govern his actions.
He was also asked about the new series renewal of the show Welcome to Twin Peaks for a nine episode season on Showtime. The filmmaker responded that there were complications in the procedure and he was not yet sure whether he would be returning for the show or not.
He was adamant that the series was still up in the air i.e. it was still on and it will be premiering in 2016 on Showtime. His involvement however was very much unconfirmed.
Later on in “The Mix”, he clarified that there wasn’t yet a contract that they had negotiated and the terms were yet to be confirmed. He admitted that he loved the world of Twin Peaks and also the characters.
He would very much like to return to it but he is waiting for confirmation of his contract but his whole talk about creative control is very much a predicate that Lynch is going to want to have full control of the newer version of the show.
David Lynch reponds to the question what it feels like to return to Twin Peaks after 25 years: “I haven’t returned yet. And we’re still working on the contract. But I love the world of Twin Peaks and I love those characters. And I think it will be very special to go back into that world.” Source: #TheMix #ABCNews #DavidLynch #TwinPeaks2016
