David Lynch Not Directing Twin Peaks Sequel due to a Small Budget

David Lynch the director of Twin Peaks will not be directing due to a small budget!

The remake of the Showtime series Twin Peaks /4/be undergoing a heavy directorial change and fans /4/not be happy about the development. David Lynch informed fans at large through his Twitter account that he will no longer be a part of the reboot of the popular series Twin Peaks.

Rumors had been swirling around for some time about the turmoil attached to Twin Peaks production. The rumors started when Lynch was quoted as saying there have been some ‘Complications’ while directing Twin Peaks.

And some rumors even hinted the show was about to be cancelled. David Lynch took to twitter to address the rumors and revealed the Twin Peaks has not been cancelled but he is longer attached to the project.

A full statement was issued on the official Facebook page of David Lynch where he said Showtime has not pulled the plug on Twin Peaks; But Lynch himself has decided to leave the project as director.

Lynch shared after having negotiated with the network for about a year and four months, he left because the funds for directing the series were not enough and did injustice to the script and the way Lynch wanted to direct.

Lynch further clarified he called all of the actors on the weekend to inform them of his departure. However Lynch’s separation from the project does not mean in any way the series Twin Peaks will not continue to air and remain alive on Showtime.

Lastly Lynch shared he loves the world of the series Twin Peaks and wishes matters were different and could have been worked out. Showtime responded to the news with a statement of their own, citing they were saddened by Lynch’s departure but Twin Peaks will be returning to TV for broadcast.
