Dennis Hastert Paid $1.7 Million to Hide Sexual Misconduct

FBI and DA have brought Former Congress Speaker to court for making illegal bank withdrawals to cover up his alleged sexual misconduct in the past according to sources

Coming from Yorkville, former high school teacher, wrestling coach and Speaker of the Congress, Dennis Hastert, was lately indicted in the Federal Court for a series of unexplained bank withdrawals that were made for covering up some sexual misconducts the politician had in the past.

FBI picked up on his trail when Dennis Hastert made series of illegally structured bank withdrawals. These unexplained were the cause of his indictment for evading the reports regarding the requirements of these withdrawals.

The authorities had been tipped off about the sexual misconduct by the person who has been referred to in court as “Individual A”. The person is someone who has been in Hastert’s past and has spent a lot of time with him during his earlier lifetime.

The authorities are not revealing the identity, nature and the timeline of the alleged sexual misconduct. The New York Times however revealed from an unrevealed source that the person told the FBI that they had been touched inappropriately by Hastert when he used to be a wrestling coach. Chicago Sun-Times and Buzzfeed also revealed that some unnamed sources believed that there had been another victim as well.

A federal magistrate set a preliminary bond of $4,500 and Dennis Hastertt is free on his own recognizance, according to court papers filed Friday. Many colleagues from the Congress and Yorkville residents are shocked.

According to WSJ, Congress colleagues said that they were in shock that one of their leaders should be caught in this kind of a situation. Especially since they were running against a culture of corruption, cronyism and incompetence. The indictments were present even then but they were found baseless.

Hastert’s former colleagues from high school and his students are also shocked to hear of the indictment. For most of them, the picture of the sexual misconduct painted by the prosecution is almost unbelievable. The Yorkville citizens are vouching for Hastert’s character and they are willing to agree that these accusations are indeed baseless. 

The case remains under scrutiny and Dennis Hastert has put himself into a very compromising position by making the withdrawals from his bank accounts. The authorities are building up a case against the former Speaker Dennis Hastert.
