Sometimes a little snark’s needed. Like when your FedEx driver’s a little bitter the New York Rangers didn’t win the Stanley Cup this year.

Los Angeles Kings captain Dustin Brown received an interesting message on one of his FedEx packages.

Apparently the driver was a New York Rangers fan—the team L.A. boosted out of the Stanley Cup win last month.

Puck Daddy columnist Harrison Mooney details the adventures in delivery in “Dustin Brown vs. the Rangers-loving FedEx delivery guy.” Brown, a native to Ithaca, New York, received a package Tuesday, July 29, with “Rangers Rule!!” scrawled above the packaging slip.

In typical fashion, the hockey player openly tweeted at the driver, saying, “I love the passion but this ain’t ‘94.” 1994 being the last time New York hoisted the much loved and fought after Lord Stanley Cup.

Of course, the winger’s used to snark and snipes after hockey fans holding grudges, or calling him a diver. He’s also known for not backing down from a fight on ice. Captain since 2008, the man’s definitely drawn criticism and seems to just ignore the responses with a laugh.

Why not? He’s a captain with two rings from a team no one believed in and still doubts on occasion. Last laugh and all.

Ranger fans faced a crushing disappointment in the last game of the Stanley Cup Finals–along with the team. Goalie Henrik Lundqvist’s devastated look made the rounds, along with L.A.’s goalie Jonathan Quick smiling face. Well, who wouldn’t be smile if winning the Stanley Cup twice in three years?

Shane Darrow covers the news for Rant Sports, and reminded readers about Cup’s second visit to Ithaca. For $5, fans could get their picture taken with the trophy where all proceeds went to various charities.

And as Rangers fan growing up, it must be a bit surreal for the 29-year-old, according to “Dustin Brown Burns New York Rangers Fan with Hilarious Tweet.” Growing wearing the red, white, and blue only to bring home the cup in white, black, and silver.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time Brown’s been a little competitive with someone’s favorite time. Thanks to “Fightin’ words: ‘Rangers rule!!’ scribbled on package sent to Kings captain Brown,” Fox Sports reminds hockey fans about the time the New Yorker snarked the President of the United States’s hometown team, the Chicago Blackhawks.

Brownie, you’re not supposed to diss Obama when he’s congratulating you for a job well done! Then again…making history /4/offer you a break or two.
