Ferrari 458 Recall is Hilarious

You won’t believe the reason why the Ferrari 458 super sports car is recalled.

The Ferrari 458 is recalled in the US because of a notice from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The problem is that the trunk cannot be opened from within. Quote: “In the event an individual is trapped in the trunk and the latch system does not release the trunk lid, it increases the risk of personal injury or possibly death.”

That is right. If you manage to squeeze yourself in the trunk under the hood of the 500hp beast you can’t get out. According to the notice, over 3,000 Ferrari owners have to bring their car to the shop to get that fixed. Model year 2010-2014 F458 Italia and F458 Spider vehicles manufactured March 5, 2010, to /4/20, 2013 are affected.

I have never heard about the safety requirement that a trunk needs to be able to be opened from within. Why are in movies victims then always struggle to get out of the trunk? It looks like the Interior trunk release requirement is in place since 2001. Hollywood is again lying to us!
