First TVs with Netflix Recommended Label Released

Netflix announced the first TVs that qualify for their new Netflix Recommended program announced at the CES 2015.

Netflix is giving its customers guidance on which TVs are best for its streaming video service. The Netflix Recommend logo has been awarded to LG’s UHD TVs with webOS 2.0, Sony’s Android HDTVs and Roku TV powered TV sets from Hisense, Insignia and TCL.

Netflix especially highlights Roku TVs and Sony Android Full HDTVs for their Instant On functionality. These TVs wake up quickly, remembering where you left off, similar to how smartphones and tablets behave today. These Sony and Roku TVs are also capable of turning on and launching Netflix with the press of a single button, making getting to Netflix faster than ever before.

Netflix says that the LG 4K UHD TVs with webOS 2.0 have made special optimizations to make streaming services like Netflix launch much faster, and all of these devices offer improved user interfaces, allowing you to move seamlessly between live TV and Internet TV services.

Netflix yesterday revealed in a Tweet that Netflix members watched 10 billion hours last quarter. That’s about 905,892,833 seasons of House of Cards.
