No firm decision has been made

Foxconn is the manufacturer behind a huge number of the products that we all use every day. Specifically Foxconn is the manufacturer who builds iPhones and other gear for Apple. Rumors are floating around that Foxconn is looking to build an LCD plant in the US reports CNBC.

The LCD plant would product large panel screens for TVs over 60-inches in size. Foxconn says that those panels are difficult to ship from Asia to the US. The plant would apparently be highly automated. Foxconn Chairman Terry Guo said, “Automation, software and technology innovation will be our key focus in the U.S. in the coming few years.”

Foxconn hasn’t made up its mind on the new plant yet. It is currently looking at the feasibility of building the advanced tenth generation LCD manufacturing plant in the US. Previously it was rumored that Foxconn was looking at putting a plant in Pennsylvania.

Back in November Foxconn said it might invest $40 million in the state. There is no known timeframe for the decision on a US factory to be made.
