The makers of Game of Thrones have created an $8 million series. And they convinced HBO which is why the deal went into effect.
The seasonal installment of Game of Thrones captured audiences on a massive level. Its popularity ratings simply tore through the stratosphere and the visual appeal of the cable show had everyone on the edge of their seats.
The Blackwater episode was especially very much favored by the viewership. And it cost tons of dollars to produce. The $8 million vision of wonder wouldn’t have made it to the screen without some very solid input from talented geniuses.
Dave Benioff and Dan Weiss spoke of how they both felt that something was missing from the Blackwater episode so they decided to do something about it. The war that got portrayed had some original sources as inspirational impetuses.
It was a pretty tough project to execute but ultimately things worked out and the scheme reached completion. But the real difficulty lay in cajoling HBO to agree to the costly episode.
The phenomenal amount of $6 million which was normally spent on each episode of Game of Thrones reflects the high maintenance nature of the show. It is not an ordinary series.
The extra financial support that was required this time around for the Blackwater series needed Home Box Office’s help. The monumental task of begging, borrowing and stealing $2.5 million was a backbreaking endeavor.
While most programs have a price of $2 million per head, this one was a big whopper that nearly broke the bank accounts of both the producers and the contributors.

The expensive nature of the budget for the Blackwater Battle was something which was felt by all those even remotely concerned with the project.
The building of ships, castles and weapons not to mention other articles of use on set was begun in the form of drafted plans on paper. And the special effects were absolutely dramatic and out of this world. The audience is expected to double now that the popularity has skyrocketed.
