Better late than never. Garmin /4/be late in the competitive market of fitness trackers, but it doesn’t stop the popular manufacturer of navigational equipment from creating one. Garmin has unveiled a new GPS running watch that can measure your heart rate.
The Forerunner 225 uses a Mio Heart Rate Technology to measure heart rate. It has a colourful graphic interface, which neatly displays the results and other data such as beats per minute and activities.
Garmin’s latest wearable is able a built-in activity tracker, measuring a user’s number of steps, calories and distance covered when running or walking. The Forerunner 225 has a good battery life, lasting up to four weeks when using its basic tracking capabilities. Continuous heart rate tracking with GPS enabled will give you ten hours of battery life.
Additionally, the Forerunner 225 is water resistant, which is perfect for your active lifestyle. Of course, you’ll be able to connect the device to Garmin Connect to track your progress and earn virtual badges for motivation. You can even join online challenges and compare your results with friends.

The Forerunner 225 will hit stores later in the second quarter. It will cost $299.99.
