Luc Besson Joins Twitter to Announce Valerian starring Cara Delevingne

This will blow your Geek Mind. Legendary director Luc Besson joined Twitter. He announced his new Sci-Fi movie titled Valerian.

Legendary director Luc Besson joined Twitter and announced his next big Science Fiction movie. Valerian And the City of Thousand Planets will be in theaters in 2017. Shooting of what Luc Besson calls a “big sci-fi” (think The Fifth Element) will start in December.

Besson also revealed that model Cara Delevingne and Dane Dehaan will star in Valerian. Cara Delevingne broke into movies in 2014 and has a long list of movies coming out in 2015. In 2016 she will be in Suicide Squad. 

American actor Dane William DeHaan is known for his role as Jesse on the HBO series In Treatment, and for his roles in the films Chronicle, Kill Your Darlings, The Place Beyond the Pines, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Luc Besson also shared the logo of Valerian.

Even for an famous director as Luc Besson it is difficult to start out on social media, even when sharing big news. In the first 15 hours of his Twitter account’s life he only gathered 7,670 followers. Cara Delevingne retweeted Luc Besson’s announcement to her 2.6 million followers, but that seemed to have had no impact.

Where are the Luc Besson fans? Luc Besson will bring back The Transporter franchise this year. The Transporter Refueled stars Ed Skrein. 

Transporter Refueled will be in theaters in September.
