Google Fiber
Google is all set to introduce fiber optics in four new locales. This operation will increase the rate of progress in the four cities.
Google is all set to expand its bases which are spread throughout the world. Among its plans of rolling out its fiber optics operations /4/be included four new cities of the United States, reports WSJ.
These are Atlanta (the headquarters of CNN), Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham and Nashville (the home of country music). This piece of news was relayed by two insiders cognizant of the situation.
The local press in each one of these four cities was invited to cover the news by Google albeit covertly. And as far as any further news is concerned mum is the word.
Google /4/have learnt this tactic of remaining silent until the last moment from Apple Incorporated.
Last year, Google let it be known that nine new cities would be getting the fiber optics amenity. These included within their purview:
Salt Lake City,
San Antonio,
Phoenix,
Portland and
San Jose…just to name a few.
However, these cities are not the last spots to be reached by Google’s bold initiative. There is a lot more to it than meets the eye.
In Kansas City, Google is already minting money in lieu of the Internet services it is lending the metro area. All this is actually a part of Google’s moonshot according to which it will persuade more and more cities to upgrade their Net facilities.
