The Android developer wants to build an affordable modular smartphone for the masses
It seems like Google has been quite busy working on the Project Ara which is all about focusing on a new venture to build a modular smartphone. The project was initated by Motorola when it was still part of the company and now an Ara Developers’ Conference is on its way on the 15th and 16th of April. This event which will take place at Mountain View, California will definitely be huge and it will be streamed for a live audience all over the world since the new project is being designed for 6 billion people. With focus on a mass market segment, the Android developer is surely working for a creation of an affordable smartphone which will be made mainstream for the masses.
Though the modular devices which will come out as a result of this project will be placed in the lower end most probably, they still are being kept under higher secrecy. We have got no leaks so far and this conference is the only thing we know so far. Google wants to release an alpha version of the Ara Module Developers’ Kit (MDK) and the good news is that this kit will be made available on the web as a free and open platform specification reference. This is for the developers who would ultimately find it easier to develop the Ara module.
