Google Maps now works without the Internet. If you love Uber, you can now get an Uber taxi via Google Maps.

It looks like Google has snagged a special deal with Uber, the growing transportation network company. According to a post at Google’s official Maps blog, the popular navigation application will now have Uber integration.

This means that Google Maps users will now have the option to get an Uber taxi within the app itself. You will now see the “Get an Uber” option at the bottom of the screen. But before you try it out, make sure to download the latest Google Maps update for iOS and Android.

Uber also confirmd the nifty integration on its blog today. It’s worth noting that Uber is a Google Ventures company.

The update also adds the capability to save maps for offline use. To use this feature, open the app and tap on the profile icon next to the search box at the top right corner. You can also add a custom name to your saved maps.

Even better, Google Maps now shows you which lane to turn so “you’ll never find yourself driving for miles down the wrong road.” Of course, the app will still proffer alternate routes.

Other new features include filters for better discovery, train navigation, and saved locations. Get the update now via Google Play and the App Store.
