Google Play Now Offers Pre-Registration of Apps

  • Now You Can Pre-Register Apps On The Google Play Store

Well no one saw this coming but now there are certain apps that the user would have to pre-register to get them on the Play Store.

Previously the Google Play Store was just like any other app store. You could go to the store and either go to the free section of the apps or you could go to the paid section of the apps. This was to make things very simple for the users.

Users would have to sync their credit/debit card with their Google email id and then they were able to get the paid apps. Google even introduced PayPal to make things easier for the customers. Now this Play Store has another interesting feature which allows users to pre-register for apps.

The first game that was made for the users to be pre-registered was the Terminator Genisys: Revolution, according to Android Police. If you go right now and search for the app, you will see a message saying ‘coming soon’.

Now the button that was used to download the app or buy the app will now say pre-register. When you press the pre-register button you will get a pop up that will tell you that you have pre-registered for the certain app and that you will be notified once the app is released.

You can easily share this news with your friends. The only bad thing about this feature is that, the pre-register option does not tell the user when the user will be getting that certain app. So we can see by these methods Google is trying to get more people into their Play Store so that there could be more number of downloads.

Studies were held regarding people who owned smartphones. The results said that majority of the people who had smartphones didn’t bother to go through their app store and get apps or even look for new ones. So by this way Google is trying to get people into their Play Store so that they could download more content and by this way they will be increasing their revenue.
