  • Is Google launching Huawei Nexus phablet and LG Nexus smartphone in 2015?

According to rumors, Google is about to launch a 5.7-inch Huawei Nexus phablet (code named Angler) and 5.2-inch LG Nexus smartphone (code named Bullhead) later in 2015.

Since the launch of the latest Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 models by Google many have been wondering what exactly will be the next move of Google in the smartphone platform.

A new report by Android Police have started swirling rumors that Google will keep itself fastened with the Nexus brand at least for 2015 and launch two new models of smartphones this very year. The 2 new Nexus smartphones by Google will be launched somewhere around in October but no new Nexus tablet will be released in this year.

According to another report the handsets released by Google will be manufactured by LG and Huawei.  A small smartphone has been commissioned to LG and the codename of the LG model is reportedly ‘Angler’.

The ‘Angler’ will be a 5.2 inches long screen smartphone with a 2700mAH battery power and sources also claim the set will have a same processor as used in the LG G4 which is the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 SoC.

The previous models launched by Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 were made in collaboration with LG and the ‘Angler’ seems to be the direct descendant of the previous two models.

While LG is commissioned with the smaller display smartphone, Huawei has been employed to make the large display smartphone by Google. The Nexus smartphone being manufactured by Huawei has been codenamed ‘Bullhead’ and will sport a 5.7 inches screen along with 3500mAh of battery power.

The ‘Bullhead’ will contain a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC processor and is being called the Nexus 6 of 2015 but with a smaller form. Latest reports which surfaced last week also indicated the new smartphone will also be inspired by the Huawei’s Ascend Mate 8 phablet and might include the faster Kirin 930 octa-core processor rather than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC. Therefore the ‘Bullhead’ is also being referred to as the Phablet smartphone.

However the details are not concrete and customers will have to wait until October 2015 to find out the truth about Google’s latest smartphone venture.
