The pilot of a gyrocopter used to deliver mail is a brave man indeed. Doug Hughes has shown the staunch abilities of an Agent 007 in his daily peregrinations.

Gyrocopter pilot hails from humid and beach-laden Florida. Doug Hughes operates a gyrocopter and delivers mail via the airborne machine. Recently, he had the guts to land on the Capitol lawn.

His stunt operation required sufficient fuel to make it a real one. But he was successful for all purposes and sure enough landed in Obama Country. A gyrocopter is a 100 year old invention that is very rare but Doug Hughes loves riding it.

It is almost unheard of in the US of A. Doug though is an expert in matters having to do with flying a gyro. In fact, according to authorities, only a gyrocopter could have been the alternative to a helicopter as far as making the lengthy journey to the White House is concerned.

A gyrocopter has propellers on its back side unlike a helicopter. The one’s above it are merely mechanical samples that rotate via the rushing flow of air.

Doug admits that his flying machine resembles a winged seed. It is like a helicopter but costs only a fraction to construct. That is the economic benefit of this gorgeous gadget that /4/transport you from here to there and back.

And although not everything is as hunky dory about this mini-aircraft of sorts (it takes more effort to get it off the ground) it is the best thing short of a chopper. But note well. Many of the movements it is capable of in the air are pretty radical.

So therein lies its agility and flow function. Whereas building a helicopter from scratch /4/cost around $100,000, the gyrocopter only needs a minimal $10,000 input from start to finish. Whichever way you look at it, it is different and so a funky gizmo to operate on your own.

James Bond’s movies often showed such a gyrocopter. And Doug is mighty proud of his own version. It is a highly creative machine that makes many look on in amazement. Hughes is above 60 and a little bit of a crank for risking entry into presidential territory.

He could have been shot down by social security men. It is the democratic climate in the United States that favors the flying maneuvers of the gyrocopter. In other countries flying one would be an ordeal indeed. Of course, the risks are there. But then so are the joys!
