Huawei Honor Series Getting Two New Smartphones

Honor 7 Series is being updated with the addition of two new smartphones in June.

After a huge success of the Ascend Mate7 Huawei is looking to expand its range of premium phones and this time the Honor Series is going to be updated with two new smartphones. The unannounced Honor 7 will have two variants which is a norm these days. The premium version will be powered by more powerful internals as expected while the regular variant will be loosing on specs but still be getting the same aircraft grade metal body as its bigger brother.

These two Honor 7 smartphones will be feature a 5-inch 1080p display and will be powered with home-baked Kirin 935 mobile chipset. The regular variant will have 3GB of RAM while the premium version will enjoy 4GB of RAM along with 16 GB of on-board memory. The presence of an external memory card slot is still unknown though.

Talking about the cameras, Huawei has recently bragged about its latest flagship P8 and its DSLR-level independent image processor and it seems like the Chinese smartphone maker is heavily relying and investing on it. Both the Honor 7 phones will be getting a 13 megapixel camera with LED flash and optical image stabilization. There is a finger print sensor under the camera lens as seen in the pics too, but it is still unknown if the regular version will be missing out on the sensor or not.

Both the smartphones will be powered by the same 3,280 mAh battery and will run on Emotion UI 3.0 which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The regular version is expected to be released in June with a price tag of CNY 1,999 ($322) while the premium version will go on sale in July for CNY 2,699 ($435).
